Your thinking is right on! Clue is that view is to NE! Ridge in background does have named peaks But not sure if they are visible in pic.

Is the background ridge/peak Price Peak in No. Yosemite? Seavy Pass area lakes?

It took me a while. And yes I cheated using Google Earth, though I knew it was around the Benson Lake area. Small lake to the east of Miller lake.

Using google earth isn't cheating! It is using the tools you had at hand plus the logic sssdave helped to get you in the right general location.

Third of all...this really reminds me of the area around Noble Lake...so I am guessing Reynolds Peak?
