Little Lakes Valley?

Definitely LLV, and I'm going to guess that's taken from the Mono Pass trail at about the 10,800 contour, which would make those Heart and Box Lakes.

Man, you guys are good! Kudos to everyone, because that's exactly where it is. Sneville, let's ask you to post a photo of a place you love in the Sierra....and we'll track it down!

In the background at frame left is topo peak 12744 that has the climber's name Peppermint Peak. To the right is Pyramid Peak and to the right of that Bear Creek Spire. Notice how 12744 lines up with Box Lake which one cannot see the right side of, and the right side of closer Heart Lake with the center of the camera position. Since this was taken close if not on the trail, one can then bisect where the noted line crosses the trail.

That is Banner and you're in the ballpark but not quite there.

Have you actually been to that basin, up to Fontananillis? I...very much liked the cascading stream flowing down slabs above Upper Velma.

I love that cascading stream. It leaves Fontanilis and goes straight down a pluton, but hits level ground a bit before reaching Upper Velma.

Western end of 1000 Is Lake, can see Garnet Pass in the background.

Winner. We had just passed along the end of Thousand and were heading toward the low pass to Garnet.
