didn't we see him already - who was this guy?

that should have been a warning to all. I will get the rest of pictures and e-mails sent out later. the wind is now blowing llike a banshee with dust everywhere - looks like we got out just in time.

I saw nobody on road till I got back to Olancha - then a line of 75 cars before I could get out onto 395 - from there it took over an hour to get home - heavy traffic

I missed everybody also. I almost started down the Saline Valley Rd. yesterday but was unsure how long it would take to Panamint from there. Anybody know? 4x4 required? I wanted to get to Panamint for the late evening colors so ended up driving 395 to Lone Pine and in from there. Spectacular! Death Valley is on my list to see the rest of for sure!

It is good to hear the reports form the other folks who were there.

from here it takes about 2-1/2 hours to get to the race track via Hunter Mountain turnoff. if you go saline valley to lippincott mine road it adds another hour or so to the trip. I did not need to go into Lone Pine - the cutoff from Olancha elimanates that need. But from this sign you are going away from Panamint - I would estimate Panamint Springs resort about 30 minutes from this sign.

Hi All,
So close but so far....Sorry we missed you, sounds like a guys had fun. But we still had a good time too. Like Ridgeline mentioned Ryan bagged his first summit. That was worth the trip in itself. the ride in was a good time too. I think we came in through Jackass Canyon. The 4x4 came in handy.

you don't know how close - if you had turned right at teakettle junction - and driven less than 2 miles up the road you would have found camp.

my pictures are uploading now - will add captions probably tomorrow

Doug! Nice photos- loved the movie! You aimed the camera right at our camp in your 360 from Teakettle and we were right through there on our way back from the Corridor (TH at Ubehebe Lead Mine). We missed you by what seems to be minutes! argghhh! Congrats to Ryan on his first peak, very cool!
