Water in lower reaches of Rafferty Creek?

Dear Members,
Does anyone know if there is water in the lower reaches of Rafferty Creek, where it begins to come in contact with the trail to Vogelsang? How about the creek which comes out of Evelyn Lake? Am leaving tomorrow, trying to gauge how much water to carry from the trailhead, and where I will first encounter water on the Rafferty Creek trail.
Gratefully,
Eric Danysh

The best info right now would be on the Yose wilderness conditions site at: http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/wildcond.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Says there is some water flowing, but the posting was 11 days ago.

Also says that bear activity is up.

We always fill at the Lyell crossing which for me means 2 quarts, and we usually go in late Sept. You meet the outlet stream from Evelyn at a very nice lunch spot a bit after the cobblestone staircase. It's not that bad and there will most likely be water there.

Good luck and have fun!
