Advice? Early Season Big Pine Lakes/Palisades

Does anybody know the current conditions up Big Pine Creek? Or have any experience hiking early season up there?

We booked a site for next weekend, 5/2-5/5. Looks like temps have stayed pretty low and a couple more inches expected mid-week, hoping for some snowshoeing opportunities and any other recommendations you might have. No peakbagging this time, just looking for nice views of icy peaks and frozen lakes, really. Are the lakes accessible? Sam Mack Meadow? I assume the glaciers are well buried at this point... Tips on crossing the south fork (was the bridge ever repaired) to get down to Finger Lake?

Any advice is much appreciated

Snow patches in some shaded areas below 1st falls, more consistent between
1st falls and 2nd falls, and becomes solid from above there (around 10000 ft).
This info is about a week old, with cold temps and more snow coming in, it
won't change much by your trip.

I crossed the South Form in mide june last year. There was no bridge. The crossing was easy but you'll get your feet wet.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'll make sure to post a TR after we're back.

If anyone else has anything more to add, please do
