Also, anyone been up there lately? are crampons needed for the hike over the pass?

Road is closed, reported to open beginning of June, the resort opens June 13th.
On their site they have a photo of Saddlebag Lake from May 9th: http://www.saddlebaglakeresort.com/ Lot of snow and lake was still frozen.

Confused by what you want.
We gave you the exact starting point - (Old tungsten mine trail to Secret Lake) - route pictures - middle - good pictures of the top/ slot up to the sign...a warning which way not to go with pictures too...(BTW, it is maybe a 1/2 mile from Secret Lake to the sign.)
and you still seem confused as to what is "correct path."

How much Sierra have you done?
