Rockchucker's pic looks like White Mountain Peak to me, from the east side.

Re: Name this mountain! (guess on Rockchucker's photo)

Post by giantbrookie »

I'll guess Rockchucker's peak (first one) as Mt Montgomery and Boundary Peak the northernmost peaks of the White Mtns, taken from the east side of the White Mtns. The next photo is probably Mt Dubois which is the next one south.

Here are two, let's see how widely traveled everyone is in the sierras.

First one is prominent in its area:

Second is a nice one for a dayhike

cmon4day - no to both.

I think folks should come back after a while to ID the peaks that no one can guess. I for one would like to know the ID of the last one that giantbrookie posted.

The Dec 3 giantbrookie peak photo post is Bear Creek Spire. Whereas this is a very striking peak that appears in so many photos (especially from Little Lakes Valley), what makes this one tricky is the viewpoint. The photo was taken from seldom-visited Spire Lake, due east of the peak.
