TR: Sierra High Route and Some Extras, Summer 2013

Post by urnotreal »

This summer, I spent 6 weeks in the Sierras. I started at Onion Valley and ended at Tuolumne Meadows, following the High Route for the most part and incorporating some detours into the route. Aside from a couple short trips in Yosemite, I was new to the area, so I relied heavily upon this forum when determining my routes. For that, I thank all of you.

Now, I've been slowly working my way through pictures (over 2600, all in raw format) and writing up the trip. I figured that a blog would be the best way to do that. It's been over a month, but I've finished the overview and the first leg. I tend to get a little wordy and picture crazy, so consider yourselves warned. I'll update as I make further progress.
Here are some links:

Nice to see someone else getting out there for a major hike! I started doing 6 weeks also. Next you will be doing 19 weeks.

I see you did Deerhorn Pass. What a pain in the ass that pass was! Be happy you didn't decide to then climb Harrison Pass the same day like I did. :retard:

You had me riveted from your summation and and enthralled with the journey to Cedar Grove. I'm another happy reader waiting for the next part. Thanks for sharing.
I don’t need a goal destination. I need a destination that meets my goals.
