Nice trip report as usual. It made me question part of a trip I did last year. I wish I had included the part of your hike from Donahue to Ireland Lake in my trip. It would have been so much better than what I did.

In 2019 I was at Iceberg Lake a couple of weeks after you were and already knew about the death, which probably had some affect on my decision. I took about three steps across the ice field with microspikes on my trail runners before I turned around, having finally listened to myself repeating over and over again "This is crazy".

When I finally got the chance to really peruse the photos and your descriptions, I was enthralled. I hope this adds to your motivation to write more since I always enjoy your reports.

I followed you on Caltopo. Between your descriptions and your photographs, I was able to nail (pretty sure) most of your camp spots. My impression is that you especially enjoy camping on high benches.
If you don't know where you're going, then any path will get you there.

Fantastic trip report as always. Stunning photography. I was starting to worry that your blog was never going to get an update. Keep them coming!

To anyone considering this route or if you're ever back in the area, consider adding on Parsons Peak/Plateau after that pass south of Ameila Earheart Peak and before heading down to Ireland Lake. One of my favorite perspectives on Half Dome/Clouds Rest and the Cathedral Range.

thanks so much for posting! You included wonderful pictures of places I haven't been since I was a kid (Nydiver, MaClure creek) and others I was curious about- the barren tarns above MaClure, the Johnson Peak-Elizabeth lake route. Thanks!
